Voice Social Media Launches On The EOS Blockchain

Voice Social Media Launches On The EOS Blockchain

On Saturday, June 1st, Block.one announced the creation of Voice Social Media. The new social platform will run on the EOS blockchain.

Voice social media hopes to help the users reap more rewards (instead of the platform). Voice will also be open since all the data will be stored using the public chain. This is in contrast to networks like Facebook. Facebook recently announced they are moving in a more privacy-focused direction.

Voice Social Media on EOS

Voice social media is the new exciting blockchain social platform of 2019. But how does it stack up against platforms like Steemit? Steemit is the blockchain based social media platform launched in 2016 by Ned Scott and Dan Larimer. Steemit reached 1 million accounts in two years and exposed new demographics to blockchain technology. Hopefully, Voice social media will have a similar impact and bring even more people to the blockchain life.

From Coindesk:

“[Block.one CEO Brendan Blumer] promised that Voice will do a better job of keeping out bots and trolls than previous social networks, without really going into the mechanics of doing so. Previously, though, Block.one brought on stage a product lead from Yubico, the makers of YubiKey, to talk about ways in which EOS would integrate with WebAuthn, a password-less standard recently approved by the W3C, which governs the worldwide web.

All attendees at the event were given a new YubiKey.At the end of Blumer’s talk, the massive screen behind him exhorted viewers to “Unlike shady algorithms” and “Unfollow being followed.” Then it was Block.one CTO Dan Larimer’s turn.“Social media was intended for good,” said Larimer, who previously co-founded a blockchain-based social media site, Steemit, before leaving for Block.one in 2017. He came on stage to announce a new token, the Voice token. “Everyone who signs up for Voice will get an EOS account,” he said.

The chief mechanic Larimer showed off was one in which users could stake Voice tokens to move to the top of a chain of comments. If someone else staked tokens to go above them, the first user would get their tokens back and then some. This additional pressure on the EOS blockchain should be partially offset by another announcement Larimer made: EOSVM. “This is a WebAssembly engine designed specifically for blockchain,” Larimer said, promising it would run 12-times faster than the original EOSIO software, which was released on June 1, 2018.

You can sign up for beta access to Voice social media on their website voice.com. We have signed up for beta access and will post an article with details and feedback on the Voice platform user experience. We will also include the latest info on the Voice Token Distribution. So stay tuned.

How Walmart Is Using Blockchain

How Walmart Is Using Blockchain

Walmart is the world’s largest company by revenue and now they are incorporating blockchain into their supply chain. The multinational retail corporation is specifically targeting leafy green suppliers and requiring that they use blockchain technology. All of this is in an effort to prevent the spread of E-coli. Earlier this year there were outbreaks from lettuce. So to briefly summarize how Walmart is using blockchain, they are enhancing their food traceability for the safety of the consumer.

The end-to-end traceability system is based on distributed ledger technology (DLT) developed by computing giant IBM. According to the report, Walmart will require suppliers to implement blockchain tech by September 2019.

The company’s Vice President of Food Safety, Frank Yiannas, stated that Walmart will require a similar traceability system “for other fresh fruit and vegetable providers within the next year.” Walmart told Bloomberg that over 100 companies will be required to implement IBM’s blockchain service.

Walmart claims that blockchain tech implementation will “dramatically [improve] efficiency.”

According to Reuters, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) consulted with Walmart to improve product traceability in order to help health officials track and manage the outbreaks of foodborne illnesses.

Earlier this year, five people died and dozens more were hospitalized in an outbreak of the E. Coli virus in the U.S. The CDC estimated that over 200 people were infected in total.

Recently, Walmart filed tech-related patents for several different blockchain applications, including the improvement of secure deliveries, methods for managing smart appliances, and a healthcare information system, among others. In June, Walmart and nine other companies partnered with IBM to release a blockchain-based system for tracking food through its supply chain globally.

Music Producer Launches His Own Blockchain Token

Music Producer Launches His Own Blockchain Token

Tech companies aren’t the only one launching blockchain tokens these days. Music artists are now utilizing blockchain tech to protect their work and earn revenue without labels and banks.

According to Wikipedia Gramatik AKA Denis Jašarević, is a Slovenian electronic music producer, originally from Portorož, Slovenia. He currently resides in New York City making genre-fusing electronic music.

On November 10, 2017, Gramatik launched his own blockchain token called GRMTK. He released 25 million GRMTK ERC20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain.

Gramatik – ” I waited for the release of a platform like SingularDTV that uses Blockchain technology to pass me intermediates. I just want to get my music out when I want and on my own terms. I want to get rid of all this bureaucracy. I just want to make music. In a world that belongs to banks and businesses, Blockchain technology is pretty much the only thing that gives me hope for the future. ” source

Want to launch your own blockchain token?

There are several ways and several blockchains you could consider for launching blockchain tokens and initial coin offerings. If you ask us, we say wait till the EOS launches this summer and build it on that blockchain platform.

Ethereum is another popular blockchain platform for tokenization. There are currently over 510 ERC20 tokens on Ethereum.

STEEM is also coming out with SMART MEDIA TOKENS for content platforms to tokenize with a stake weighted voting system like Steemit has.

Monero Is Now The Only 100% Anonymous Cryptocurrency

Monero Is Now The Only 100% Anonymous Cryptocurrency

A new blockchain analysis firm has released surprising news about Dash and ZCash. There is only one true anonymous cryptocurrency on the market at this time, and it is Monero.

BlockSci, a new blockchain analysis firm, has successfully traced transaction from beginning to end on both DASH and ZCash. This is bad news for these blockchain projects as their biggest focus and value add is anonymity. Now this is technically gone.

The good news is that they were not able to trace transactions on Monereo. Monereo’s level of anonymity and obfuscation is still impenetrable.

MONERO Is Still 100% Anonymous. 👍

From themerkle.com:

Criminals flocking to other cryptocurrencies may want to think twice about those as well. As BlockSci’s whitepaper explains, there are very few cryptocurrencies which have eluded their scrutiny. One of those currencies is Monero, as it provides a degree of anonymity and obfuscation the group has not been able to crack just yet. Monero is officially labeled an “unsupported blockchain due to it not following the one-input one-output paradigm.” That is an interesting point which shows how Monero may be the only cryptocurrency providing full privacy and anonymity right now.

Some people may wonder how Monero is any different from Dash or even ZCash in this regard. While it is true the latter two cryptocurrencies have focused on privacy and anonymity to a degree, their implementations are far from perfect. BlockSci describes how they successfully traced both ZCash and Dash transactions from beginning to end, regardless of features like PrivateSend. This is anything but good news for people who value these currencies for their privacy or anonymity features.

In reality Dash and ZCash user don’t have to worry much. It would be expensive to hire a blockchain analysis consultant to track transactions on these privacy centered blockchains. Just know it can happen.

We still think Dash and ZCash are great. Even if transactions can be traced, it’s still a blockchain asset protected by cryptography. No one can take your crypto assets without your private key.
